Russell William Lake was born on November 10, 1978 in Columbia,
SC. He grew up in Columbia but moved to Lexington, SC when he
was 14 years old. He attended Lexington High School and was
active in the band--and yes he went to band camp ;)
Russell went to the College of Charleston (he was a nerd
in the honors college) where he obtained a Bachelor's degree
in Biology in 2001. His first job after college was working
at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Neuroscience
Lab where he did research (and played with cocaine--fed it
to rats, yuck!).
Russell began medical school at MUSC in 2003 and just graduated
in May of 2007 with his MD. He was also promoted to Captain
with the U.S. Army the same day. In July he began his Family
Medicine residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort
Gordon (Augusta, GA).
The above info is just a little background on Russell--none
of which "swept me off of my feet." That occurred
due to Russell's amazing personality--a quick wit and true
southern charm! We can't wait to see you all at the wedding,
there you may literally watch Russell "sweep me off my
feet" at out wedding reception, in a honest attempt to
keep up with me on the dance floor! :) |
